Activities Each year, almost all of the students participate in one or more sports and other extracurricular activities. We strive to offer as many of the following sports and clubs to all students as possible, depending on available funds and coaches. In addition, new clubs are created when there is student interest and faculty support.
Eligibility All DoDDS Pacific students who take part in extracurricular activities cannot have two F's and must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 grade point average (GPA). Students not meeting this standard are ineligible to participate in the activity or travel. It is expected that students that have two F's or are not able to maintain the minimum GPA will be placed in a monitored intervention program. Ineligible students must be monitored on a weekly basis to re-establish eligibility. Sports Physical Examinations Sports physicals will be done at the clinic over the summer. Physicians will see students individually, and one of the goals will be for the physician to address the problems of adolescence in general as well as address any health-related questions the student may have. It is a requirement for anyone who is returning to school and who has any, even if very vague, intention of participating in sports any time during the school year to have a sports physical examination prior to the first day of school in August. The requirement will also apply to those students who register for school during the summer.
